The Army 7s side received another boost from their major sponsors before heading into the 2023 Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s that starts in Nadi today.
Ram Sami business development manager Abdul Shameer presented training t-shirts and muscle vests to Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) officer Major Elia Rokowailoa and a few players present at the event.
“On behalf of the president and the chairman of Army Rugby, team management and players, I would like to thank the Ram Sami company for supporting the RFMF sevens side for the past few years,” Rokowailoa said.
He said the sportswear provided by Ram Sami would be used during their warm-ups and training sessions during the Nawaka 7s.
Shameer said Ram Sami had always been a huge supporter of sports in Fiji and was more than willing to be the Army 7s side’s major sponsor for the Nawaka 7s.
“We believe that there are many raw talents here in Fiji and we would like to play a part in discovering those talents and getting young Fijians involved in sports,” Shameer said.
The Army side enters the Nawaka 7s as a former title holders, winning their last title in 2006, and will be looking to redeem themselves.
“So far they have been consistent in all of the games they have played since 2021 and we believe that they will be able to achieve their goals at the Nawaka 7s,” Shameer said.
