Army moved to second position in the Lautoka Club Rugby competition standings after defeating Topline by 21-5 at Nadovu Park in Lautoka during round five on Saturday.

In a tense first half, both teams were physical in their approach to the game, with the forward pack going against each other.

The score at the breather remained nil-all.

The message at half-time from Army coach Samisoni Lasaqa sparked the young brigade securing them a win.

“Topline gave us a very hard time and it was a very physical battle,” he said.

Lasaqa said the discipline of his players was the only difference between the two teams that got them through full-time.

“I told the players at the breather to stick to the game plan and work very hard.”

He said, this season, the side had only lost to defending champion Vuda Green in round two and had won the rest of their other four games.

“I am very proud of the performance of the boys.

“Ninety per cent of the players are aged 19 or below.

“The players are rearing to go every week and I am very proud of their performance so far in the competition,” he said.
