Authority investigates house fire

The National Fire Authority and police are investigating a house fire in Maro, Sigatoka last Saturday that destroyed an eight-bedroom house.
The house belonged to farmer Hirdesh Narayan, 48, who was away in Nadi with is family at the time of the incident.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the fire started around 2pm.
“It’s an eight-bedroom corrugated iron house, and the cost of damage is around $80,000,” she said.
“Investigation continues as police are awaiting a report from the National Fire Authority.” The house was not insured.
