Another two tries in the 38-0 win over the Bulldogs in the NRL on Saturday night will be a boost for Parramatta Eels star Maika Sivo as he continues to impress his Fiji Bati coaches ahead of the Rugby League World Cup later this year.

Sivo’s performance and also of the other Fijian players in the NRL this year is a good sign for the Bati ahead of the RLWC in England.

Fiji National Rugby League acting chief executive officer Don Natabe said it was another high level performance from Sivo.

“It was a spectacular performance from our ‘Superman’ Sivo and watching him cross over and putting the result to bed with his second try before full-time against the Bulldogs was just too good,” Natabe said.

“Overall Sivo and the other Bati players’ performance in the NRL have been nothing short of remarkable and that’s the talent we have going to this RLWC2021.

“The Panthers have Api Koroisau and Viliame Kikau, the Dragons have Mikaele Ravalawa who has bagged five tries behind Sivo, who leads with nine tries and Raiders have young Semi Valemei on the blocks.

“The Bati coach has his eyes on our possible squad and hoping they all will be in top form when we head into the World Cup in October.”

Natabe said they are looking ahead to the match against England in Rochdale and also to the opening match of the RLWC against the Australia Kangaroos on October 23 at the KCom Stadium, in Hull.

“We are very much on track and are delighted to see our boys perform in the NRL,” he said.
