COVID-19: USP extends mid-semester break

The University of the South Pacific has extended the mid-semester break for all campuses until May 2.

The USP stated that all mid-semester tests and exams scheduled during the extended period were postponed.

“Further to the announcement by the Ministry of Health, the mid-semester break for all USP campuses has been extended for another week until Sunday, May 2,” the university stated.

“Non-residential students will not be permitted to enter the Fiji campuses, however, regional campuses outside of Fiji will operate as normal.”

USP also stated the collection of graduation certificates from the Laucala campus was postponed until further notice.

It has urged its staff and students to strictly follow Government restrictions.

“Staff and students within the lockdown areas are strongly encouraged to wear masks and encouraged to wash their hands.

“All staff and students are encouraged to download and activate the careFiji app on their mobiles.

“Laucala campus gym, swimming pool, sporting fields, staff club will be closed for 14 days and include all religious activities held on campus premises.”
