Education Ministry looks for partners

The Ministry of Education is looking for contractors and service providers to upgrade and maintain schools around Fiji.

In a tender notice published last week, the Ministry of Finance stated they were looking for structural and civil engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, civil works, electrical service, electrical engineers, plumbers, joiners, those in construction, building and maintenance, fire safety, pest and hygiene and land surveyors.

“The ministry looks after over 1700 schools across Fiji including the rural and maritime areas and has many projects throughout the year in all the divisions across the country including upgrade and maintenance and new building projects,” stated the tender.

“As such the ministry is looking to expand its current panel of contractors and service providers who meet the required criteria.

“The ministry is also seeking expression of interest from small and medium businesses that meet the criteria.

“Businesses from Central, Eastern, Northern and Western (divisions) are encouraged to apply.”

The contractors, vendors and suppliers may be required to do jobs at schools, offices and buildings under the Ministry of Education.
