Fiji parliamentarians urged to deliver sacred duty to the people

Members of the Parliament were today urged to deliver their sacred duty to the people of Fiji.

While opening the new session of parliament this morning, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere said it was his hope and prayer that both sides of the August House worked together in cooperation and unity  for the betterment of Fiji.

“The change in our Government, gives rise to the opportunity to bring our nation together and start afresh,” Ratu Wiliame said.

“The Honorable Speaker, Members of Cabinet, Members of the loyal Opposition, Members of Parliament, I congratulate you on being called to serve Fiji and her people,” he said.

“I urge you to deliberate with intentions, advocate with thoughtfulness and inclusivity in debate with respect and finesse.”
