Fijians visit 7s teams

The Fiji Airways Fiji men’s and women’s 7s teams were visited by members of the Fijian community in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the Dubai 7s tournament this weekend.

According to Kelepi Abariga of the Gulf Fijian Media, Fiji’s ambassador to the UAE, Naipote Katonitabua, his wife Tamarisi Katonitabua, and Fiji Mission staff led a Fijian diaspora delegation to visit the teams at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai on Tuesday.

It was reported that Fijiana head coach Saiasi Fuli thanked Katonitabua and members of the Fijian community for the kind gesture.

Gulf Fijian Media stated Katonitabua said the Fijian diaspora in the Middle East always looked forward to rendering their support to the teams.

Also present were former Fiji rugby representatives Setefano Cakau and Sisa Koyamaibole including fellow Fijians Eroni Viqasi, Dan Ligairi, Vito Tuivione, Sakiusa Naisau, Epeli Dranibota, Pio Tanimakutu and Gau native Asivorosi Tora.

The Dubai 7s starts on Friday.

The Fijiana take on Japan at 5.22pm while the men’s team faces Uruguay at 7.12pm.
