FijiFirst got $2.2m in gift

FijiFirst received $2.2 million in donations for its financial year ending December 31, 2022.
The party spent $3.3m on campaigning for the 2022 General Election.
This, according to its annual financial statement submitted to the Fijian Elections Office which stated the party incurred a loss of $1m after its expenses of $4.2m exceeded its total income of $2.5m.
The election campaign spending included advertisements in newspapers and other media, banners, billboards, flyers, merchandise, promotional items such as USB, wristbands, bangbangs, sulu and T-shirts and meetings, rallies and pocket meetings.
Travelling and accommodation, rental cars, transportation for rallies were also campaign expenses.
A total of $176,220 was used on salaries and wages. FijiFirst has declared the $2.2m in donations were received from individuals and there was no revenue from fundraising activities or membership registration fee.
It has $252,761 as cash on hand at banks with $206,989 in a bank account with HFC Bank.
The People’s Alliance had declared it received $568,383 in donations, the National Federation Party $645,188 while SODELPA was gifted $107,691 by supporters during this period.
