Fijian designer Eferemo Ramokosoi officially introduced his fashion brand – Ramokosoi Fiji – during the London Pacific Fashion Week (LPFW) earlier this month.
Launched at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in Whitehall, London, UK, the exhibition also included the works of other local designers such as Hupfeld Hoerder, Niurua Creatives and Vulagi Design.
LPFW director Ana Lavekau said Ramokosoi Fiji also featured a collection hosted for the Fijian and the Military Fijian Community – Bula Festival the following day.
“This ended with a finale editorial shoot last weekend at our prime location at Southbank overlooking the River Thames and London Eye,” Ms Lavekau said.
Meanwhile, Ovalau native, Mr Ramokosoi who was brought up in Levuka had his first taste of fashion in 2019 after attending a workshop co-ordinated by Fiji Fashion Week.
“I then attended the workshop and later participated in the mentoring classes organised by Fiji Fashion Week in 2019,” Mr Ramokosoi said.
“In the completion of the mentoring classes, I had managed to produce 10 garments that were all shown in the Emerging Designers category.
“One of the 10 garments I had made was shown at the launch of Ramokosoi Fiji and Fiji Fashion Week, 2019, at the French Ambassador’s Residence in Suva.
“This year, 2021, I have been given a great opportunity to showcase Ramokosoi Fiji, a men’s wear collection on a global stage in participating at the LFPW.”
