Major boost for Suva soccer

Defending champions of the Inter District Championship, Suva received a major boost yesterday for this year’s tournament which starts in 10 days’ time.

Newline Chemicals and Chandra Enterprises have come on board to support the team for the tournament. Newline Chemicals CEO Kartik Pillay said they were excited to partner with Suva.

“It is my distinct honor to announce our sponsorship for the Suva Football Club as they prepare to participate in the upcoming Inter-District Championship to be held right here in Suva,” said Pillay.

Pillay said football was more than just a game and the sport held a special place in the hearts of many.

“It unites people, transcending boundaries, and bringing communities together.

“Through this sponsorship, we aim to provide the necessary resources and support for the Suva Football Club to train, compete, and represent our city with the highest level of professionalism and dedication.”

Suva FC president Ritesh Pratap thanked both companies for coming on board to assist the team in their title defence.

“We are indeed proud of the two companies for coming together in sponsoring the team for the upcoming Courts IDC and it happened in just a few minutes of talk between us,” said Pratap.

Pratap added that the sponsorship will help in the welfare of the players.

The tournament will be played at the HFC bank Stadium from October 10-15.
