Naibuka Vuli’s story is one of the painful reminders of how the coronavirus can impact families when comfort and strength at a time of great loss is most needed.

Yesterday The Fiji Times found him in a queue outside the Ministry of Health headquarters in Toorak, Suva.

The 45-year-old man emotionally said he was there to apply for a pass because he wanted to take his wife and newborn son’s bodies home to Baulevu, Nausori.

“I have to take their bodies home today because the funeral is tomorrow (today),” he said.
