Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua was honoured to have been accorded the quarter guard at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua yesterday.
Mr Tikoduadua who was once a military officer before he ventured into the political arena said he had never been accorded a quarter guard before when he was with the military.
He thanked the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, for the invitation and the welcome ceremony he received.
He said he never thought that after a long time he had left Delainabua, that he was going to return after being bestowed with the responsibility of leading the safety and security of the people of Fiji and to work alongside the RFMF once again.
He added the ship that had left QEB some time back had returned to assist and forge ahead in keeping the safety and security of our nation.
Mr Tikoduadua told senior military officers that he hoped the picture that had been painted at the QEB yesterday would continue to be reflected in the years ahead for the sake of the peace and prosperity of the country.
