The Nadi football side, which finished on sixth spot at the end of the Digicel Fiji Premier League (DFPL) this season, is hoping for a better outing at the Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) next month.

The Jetsetters mentor Kamal Swamy said they performed “well” during the season.

The side recorded seven wins, three draws and eight loses in the 18 games they played in the DFPL.

“We tried to maintain with these same boys, and we did well this season and now we are heading into the last major tournament in the Fiji football calendar,” said Swamy.

He added they need to do well with a young team in the IDC in order earn respect from fans and other teams.

“I feel the boys are focused and we would give our best whoever will be in our pool opponents. “We are looking to do something positive with this group of boys and I am sure we would do well.”

Swamy said that they had mixed results in the season due to a number of factors.

“There were lot of ups and wins as their were some senor players missing in some of the league games. We tried with young boys.

“We managed to penetrate and score goals this season, however, we were having problems defending and we have been continuously working on it.”

The IDC will be played from 10-15 of October at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
