The ‘no jab, no job’ policy will be removed soon, said Attorney-General Siromi Turaga while speaking at the Fiji Meteorological Service office in Nadi on Wednesday.

While on a tour there, he said taking the retirement age to 60 was the best Christmas gift civil servants got.

“The next one is coming, no jab, no job. That is going to be removed very soon,” Mr Turaga said.

“I know one of your senior officers is in that category and I admire, I tell you, I admire the faith, the commitment to sacrifice what they had.

“We are working on that probably by next Cabinet (meeting). We’ll come to a decision and go to Parliament and we’ll remove that.

“Should have been done a long time ago.

“According to the Minister for Health, there is sufficient protection out there, but for some strange reasons, a good number of people of Fiji have been prejudiced because of their pending actions in court.

“We need to resolve this and move forward.”
