One point away | 2023 Rugby World Cup quarter-final

The Fiji Water Flying Fijians are just one point away from reaching the quarter-final of the 2023 Rugby World Cup which would be a first in 16 years.

Australia secured a bonus point win yesterday in their 34-14 win over Portugal, moving the Wallabies to second on the standings in Pool C with 11 points and having completed all its pool matches.

Fiji has 10 points and just need a point from its last game against Portugal as 11 points will be enough to secure the side a spot in the final eight.

A win, draw or a loss within seven points will be enough for the Simon Raiwalui-coached side.

While all Fijians around the globe will be gunning for the team to win, a loss within seven points will also secure the Fijians a spot in the quarter-final.

Scoring four tries in a loss also gives a point to the losing team.

So, these are the possibilities and Portugal will need to beat Fiji by more than seven points and stop Fiji from scoring four tries to deny the Fijians a place in the quarters.

Fiji takes on Portugal at 7am on Monday.
