Teams know IDC pools

The 2023 Courts Inter District Championship tournament is expected to be filled with tough and exciting encounters as the pools for the week-long tournament was drawn at Courts Mega Store in Samabula, Suva yesterday.

Fans will see a repeat of last years final in the pool games this year as defending champions Suva are pooled with last years runners-up Navua in Pool B.

Joining last year’s finalist are the Delta Tigers Rewa side and the lone westerners in the pool are the green-machine Nadi football club.

Meanwhile, Pool A will feature some exciting games as Digicel Fiji Premier League champion Lautoka is pooled with Battle of the Giants champion Labasa, the Men in Black Ba and an improved Tailevu-Naitasiri side.

The golden-town boys are grouped with Seaqaqa and Rakiraki in Pool A of the premier division while Nadroga, Savusavu and Nasinu.

In the senior division Lami, Nadogo and Dreketi make up Pool B while Northland Tailevu, Bua and Taveuni are in Pool A.

Courts Fiji Ltd, which have been the sponsors for the last 23-years, handed over a cheque of $130,000 for the tournament prizemoney.

The super premier winner will receive $22,000 while the runners-up will be awarded $6,000.

The premier division winner will receive $6,000 while the runners-up will receive $2,000.

The winner of senior division will receive $3500 and the runners-up will get $1000.
