Tikoduadua grateful for Fiji army’s commitment

Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua says he will continue to support and respect commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) for their commitment to supporting justice and the rule of law.
He made the statement after being accorded a traditional welcome by the members of the RFMF force at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua yesterday.
He said he shared a similar vision for a prosperous and secure Fiji with the commander. and would continue to support the commander and the RFMF force rebuild confidence in the armed forces for the wellbeing of the country.
Earlier, Mr Tikoduadua visited the commander at the RFMF strategic headquarters at Berkley Crescent in Suva where he was accorded a quarter guard before proceeding to a formal meeting for the commander.
“I am grateful to the commander and the RFMF for their commitment to supporting justice, human rights and the rule of law,” Mr Tikoduadua said.
He said he hoped the newly-strengthened partnership between the coalition Government and military would remain strong, especially after the new waves of political changes which was brought about by the votes of the people of Fiji.
Mr Tikoduadua acknowledged the RFMF’s service to the country, especially for their role in the smooth running of the election.
